About this project
36 cooperative solar panels at primary school De Klok in Kortessem, installed in spring 2025. The installation produces approximately 18,000 kWh annually — enough for the consumption of 5 Flemish families — and saves around 4.25 tons of CO₂.
The students of De Klok learn about renewable energy at a young age. The school offers inclusive education for children from 2.5 years old through primary school, with flexible education tailored to individual talents.
This project is part of Kortessem's broader sustainability initiative with three municipal buildings, a total of 130 panels, 75 kWp capacity and 68,000 kWh annual production, good for approximately 16 tons of CO₂ savings. Total investment: €54,000.
