Mozaïek Cultural Center

52 cooperative solar panels at Cultuurcentrum Mozaïek in Kortessem, installed in spring 2025. The installation produces approximately 27,000 kWh annually — equivalent to the electricity consumption of 8 Flemish households — thereby saving approximately 6.35 tons of CO₂ per year.

Community members who invest become co-owners and receive financial returns from the energy production. The initiative strengthens local involvement in sustainable practices and supports a vibrant cultural venue.

The Mozaïek project is part of a broader municipal project in Kortessem with approximately 130 cooperative panels on three public buildings (cultural center, primary school and sports hall), totaling 75 kWp, 68,000 kWh annual production and 16 tons of CO₂ savings. Total investment: €54,000.
