About this project

56 cooperative solar panels on the historic Jenever Museum in Hasselt, installed in spring 2025. The installation produces approximately 20,700 kWh annually — equivalent to the electricity consumption of 6 Flemish households — and thus saves nearly 5 tons of CO₂ per year.

The project demonstrates how heritage preservation and sustainability go hand in hand. Through Bronsgroen, Hasselt residents can become co-owners, ensuring that both the generated electricity and financial returns remain within the community.

The Jenever Museum is part of a broader initiative for the city of Hasselt, with a total of 160 solar panels and 75 kWp capacity on multiple municipal buildings, generating 65,000 kWh annually and saving approximately 14.5 tons of CO₂. Entirely financed with citizen capital.

The capital round for this project has ended. Check out our other projects that are still open for investment.
